Dear Members
The Smokers Club of Great Britain is now closed until further notice. We
have served our members well for over 10 years but due to a number of
factors, we are simply unable to continue. We have been unable to find a new
managing partner/investor since Mr Tim Jones
left the club a few months ago when the club was left with debt of almost 10,000 GBP.
I was asked to return to the club as a temporary manager to try and sort out
the club's problems but I have concluded that the club must close forthwith
otherwise it will slip further into debt. Regretably, there are a number of
members that did not recieve their tobacco orders, and I am still looking at
how these can be fulfilled. I will continue to look for a new managing
partner/investor for the club, and if one can be found, the club will
re-open and all outstanding orders will be cleared up immediately. I will
contact the affected members once a way to resolve the issue can be found.
Some outstanding orders are still held in Madrid and I hope that these will
be sent on to the members once they have cleared customs.
It is with great sadness that I have to write this letter since I founded
the club in 1998, and though it has been under new management for the past 5
years I am disheartened that it was left in such a mess and must now close.
